story my neighbor (who just died) experienced with Ted WIlliams in about 1945 in Penscecola.

My father was in the Navy. Texas Tech ocs then on an ocean going tug, then an oiler in Hawaii then a tug in Oakland then Supply Officer School then something in Williamsburg then Pittsburgh (for Rickover) then Groton (for Rickover) 3 years then grad school DC, then Newport News (when I went to the same elementary school MV1 later went to) Shipyard 3 years (Nimitz built then), then Newport RI War College, then Coronado 2 years (1 year rented on J ave then 1 year on the Naval Amphib base then Arlington, VA ----- I came along in Pittsburgh.
